Surf Fishing Bald Head Island

The east beach at Bald Head has a very good reputation for surf fishing, some have even compared it second to Cape Point on Hatteras Island for red drum (some people - not me). It actually is one of the few place to seriously target Tarpon from the surf in North Carolina. If you are there in July, August or September, you should at least try. Don't ignore the west beach facing the Cape Fear river - plenty of good shore fishing here as well. Overall, expect Bluefish, puppy drum and sharks from the shores of Bald Head Island.
